He was born in Manchester, April 10, 1927 and was the son of George and Angie (Welch) Burpee. He grew up in Manchester and had been a resident of Weare for many years.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Burpee owned and operated Burpee's Auto in Goffstown for many years.
He leaves his loving wife of 62 years, Helen M. (Cantin) Burpee of Weare; seven children, Roberta McQuiston and her husband, Paul, of Mesa, AZ, Linda Cusson and her husband, William, of Manchester, Mary Meuer and her husband, Bruno, of Weare, John Burpee of Laconia, Michael Burpee and his wife, Dawn, Thomas Burpee and his wife, Angie, and Ann Boisvert and her husband, Jerry, all of Manchester; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three siblings, Roberta Frisella of Auburn, Joseph Burpee of Manchester, and Joanne Bernard of Canada; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two children, George A. Burpee Jr. and Albert A. Burpee.
A prayer service was conducted in the funeral home on Friday, October 22, 2010.
