George C. Passas, 89, of Manchester, died on September 25, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.
Born on July 25, 1932, in Manchester, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Zekas) Passas. He was educated in Manchester and served in the US Army. He worked for many years as a typesetter with Times Union Newspaper before retiring in 1994.
George was a hardworking man who was very dedicated to his family. He enjoyed time spent gambling at various casinos with his late wife Arline. He also enjoyed eating Greek food.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Arline M. (Lamontagne) Passas in 2020.
Surviving family members include two children, Timothy G. Passas of Manchester and Christine A. Wiss of Orange City, FL; and two grandchildren, Michaella R. Wiss of Manchester, and Matthew E. Wiss of Orange City, FL. He was also predeceased three sisters, Terry LaFond, Cassie Gallant and Voulie Vangas.
