George DeBlois, 86, of Manchester, died November 19, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester after a long illness.
He was born in Laconia on December 6, 1929 to Edmond and Albertine (Desmarais) DeBlois. He lived in Manchester for most of his life.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army.
George had worked at J.F. McElwain Shoe Company, then at the City of Manchester Meter Department, where he retired as supervisor. He was a musician who had played drums in the band, The Diamonds. He was also an avid sports fan.
The family includes his wife of 64 years, Pauline R. (Gelinas) DeBlois of Manchester; a son, Richard DeBlois of Manchester; three grandchildren, Brigitte A. Paquin, Chase D. DeBlois and Daniel J. DeBlois; two step grandchildren, Lauren A. Labbe and Lindsay Labbe; a great granddaughter, Lydia J. Paquin; his twin sister, Georgette Coutu of Vernon, CT; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Victor Deblois.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
