George H. Demers, 85, of Manchester, died August 31, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on January 17, 1936 to Pierre and Odila (Berard) Demers. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
George had worked at Pandora Knitted Fashions for many years and Beech Hill Apartments in retirement, both in Manchester.
He was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Manchester. He enjoyed feeding birds, watching professional wrestling, being with his family and was an avid picture taker.
He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Jeanne Cantin and Gerard Demers.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice (Shank) Demers of Manchester; two children, Denise A. Royce and her fiancé, Eric Morgan, of Auburn and Raymond G. Demers and his fiancée, Michelle Balon, of Manchester; three grandchildren, Jonathan Royce and his wife, Maunie, of Derry, Matthew Royce and his wife, Jessica, of Brookline and Jennifer Olson and her husband, Jason, of Manchester; four great grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Paxton and Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester.
Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
