George Desainde, 86, of Manchester died October 21st, 2021 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
George was born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada on July 29th, 1935 to Ernest and Eva (Nadeau) Desainde. He married Angele (Lemieux) in 1961 whom he remained married to for 56 years until her death in 2018. They had two daughters before moving to New Hampshire in 1965 and adding a son.
George worked for Mag & Arrow as a construction worker for more than two decades, until leaving and becoming an independent/self-employed logger for a decade prior to retiring. He was also a member of the New England Carpenter's Union. In addition to working and spending time with his family, George loved fishing and hunting. He was also a member of the Rimmon Club where he enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard.
The family includes three children, Denise Desainde of Manchester, Helen Avard and her husband Paul of Wolfeboro, and Marc Desainde and his wife Nicole of Weare; four grandchildren, Nathan and his wife Casey, Monique and her husband Thomas, Olivia, and Ryan; sister Doris Veins of Berlin and brother Aldei Desainde of Coaticook, Quebec.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday October 29th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed immediately by a funeral ceremony at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
