He was born in Manchester, June 14, 1921, to Aime and Anna (Champagne)Guimond. He had been a member of the former St. Ann parish and recently was a member of St. Pius X parish.
George was educated in local schools. From 1941 to 1945 he served with the United States Army in Europe. He was a member of the Manchester Fire Department from 1950 to 1960. Later, George worked for the United States Post office retiring in 1978.
He was a clever man who enjoyed finish carpentry. He holds a patent for a utility cart that he invented. George was the past commander of the former D.A.V. chapter 18, as well as a member of the American Legion, Jutras Post #43.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his children, Elaine and her husband James Bliss, of Bow, Diane Guimond, of Manchester, Joanne and her husband Jim Roy, of Manchester, Bertrand Guimond and his wife Marianne, of Manchester; 9 grandchildren, Kenneth, Kimberly, Sheli, Christopher, Bianca, David, Corinne, Jennie Lynn, Anna; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Florence Guimond on September 23, 2010.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Pius X church Candia Rd. Manchester.
Committal followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum 474 Goffstown Rd. Manchester.
