George A. Helie

George A. Helie, 89, of 90 Edward J. Roy Dr., Manchester, died March 27, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester, August 7, 1914, he was the son of Antonio and Albertine (Chretien) Helie. He was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mr. Helie retired from Waumbec Mills where he worked for many years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition he was a communicant of St. Augustin Church, and a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.

He was married to Louise (Longchamps) Helie, who died in 1989.

Family members include a daughter, Doris L. Helie of Bow; two sons, Richard G. Helie of Manchester, and Donald A. Helie of Deerfield; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10 am at St. Augustin Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
