George A. "JR" LaBrie, 64, of Bow, NH, died July 31, 2006, at the Elliot Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester, March 6, 1942, and was the son of George D. and Yvonne G. (Neveu) LaBrie. He had been an area resident all of his life. He also had wintered in Naples, FL for the past 25 years.
Mr. LaBrie owned George LaBrie Auto Sales in Bonita Springs, FL, LaBrie Auto Sales, JR'S Southern Cars, and Classic Car Corner, all in Hooksett, NH. He previously owned Town & Country Taxi.
He played the banjo and was a member of the Southwest Florida Bluegrass Association.
He traveled extensively throughout the world often on sailing yachts in Greece and Turkey. He was known for his generosity and sense of humor and had many close friends.
Family members include his wife of 40 years, Iris L. (Frisella) LaBrie of Bow, NH; a daughter, Lisa Jill LaBrie of Hooksett, NH and Clermont, FL; a brother, Roger F. LaBrie of Center Barnstead, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Provost, and by a sister Carmelle Levesque
A memorial reception was held Friday August 4, 2006 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032, or the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03246, or the planting of a tree in his memory.
