George Poirier

September 21, 1921 — August 28, 2004

George Poirier, 82, of Bedford died August 28, 2004 at the Arbors of Bedford after a long illness.

Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick on September 21, 1921, he was the son of Joseph and Olive (Richard) Poirier. He lived in Rogersville for many years before moving to Bedford in 1954.

During World War II, while serving for the Canadian Army, he was a prisoner of war in Germany for two years.

Mr. Poirier worked for the Town of Bedford Highway Department for many years.

He was married to Lillian (Perry) Poirier who died in 1992.

The family includes a sister, Lorette Arseneault of Rogersville, New Brunswick; a cousin, Joseph S. Richard of Bedford and several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday August 31, 2004 in Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St., Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
