George D. Porter, 92, of Manchester, died February 8, 2018 at Hackett Hill Healthcare Center.
He was born in Chelsea, MA on February 27, 1925 to Benjamin and Anna (Hamburg) Podolsky.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He last worked at MIT Lincoln Labs in Lexington, MA.
George was well loved and will be missed by his immediate and extended family.
He was predeceased by a son, David Porter and a sister, Dorothy Miller.
The family includes his wife of 40 years, Joanne S. (Boissonneault) Porter; a daughter, Laurie (Podolsky) Ferrell; four step-children, Linda Byron, Anthony Gallello, John Gallello and Karen Gallello; a grandson, Daniel Ferrell; 11 step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester.
