George J. Walter

On December 6, 2016, George John Walter, Sr. of Manchester; devoted father of Cindy McLaughlin, her husband Rick, Chip Walter, his wife Kim; cherished grandfather of Kelley, Tim McLaughlin, Kristyn Curran, her husband Andy, Bethany and Griffin Walter and great grandfather of Billy Curran; dear brother of Robert Walter peacefully passed away. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Navy veteran, avid golfer, gifted harmonica player and loving father, nothing meant more to George than his family. He will always be remembered for his loving devotion to his wife, Gloria, of 68 years who passed away on October 18, 2016, just 7 weeks earlier. Kindhearted with a youthful sense of humor, George was the eternal optimist and whose glass was always half full. There was no kinder, more supportive father, grandfather or great grandfather than George.

Family and friends honored George's life at Lambert Funeral Home in a private ceremony Friday, December 16, 2016. George's interment with military honors immediately followed the service at Mount Cavalry Cemetery and Mausoleum.
