Georges-Emile Blanchette, 91, of Manchester, died April 24, 2015 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born in Manchester on June 21, 1923 to Napoleon and Derilda (Tessier) Blanchette. He moved to St. Gerard, Quebec, Canada as an infant and returned to Manchester in 1967.

Georges-Emile worked as a stone cutter for Barretto Granite in Milford for many years. He enjoyed listening to music, reading, camping and animals.

He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Heloise (Thibeault) Blanchette in March of this year; a grandson, Steve Francoeur; and his brothers and their wives, Herve and Laurette Blanchette, Jean-Paul and Jewel Blanchette, Gerard and Juliette Blanchette and Roland Blanchette.

The family includes two daughters, Diane Francoeur and her husband, Raymond, of Manchester, Claire-Helene Horne and her husband, Donald, of Aiken, SC; two sons, Jean-Luc Blanchet of Amos, Quebec, Canada and Rejean Blanchette and his husband, Robert Paradis, of Deerfield; nine grandchildren, Nyko Blanchet and his wife, Danye Boivin, and their children, Jessyca and William and Jessica's daughter, Romane; Mirko Blanchet; Karel Blanchet and her children, Frederic and Jezabel; Akim Blanchet; Khalil Blanchette and his wife, Kristy, and their daughter, Cora; Ebony St. Onge; Kyra Chantee Leonard and her husband, David, and their son, Mason; Adam St. Onge and his companion, Bonnie Lee Faulkner; Maya Glover and her husband, Nathan, and their sons, Eli and Odin; a sister, Jeanne d'Arc Bilodeau and her husband, Yvon, of Stratford, Quebec, Canada; four sisters in law, Yolande Hebert Blanchette of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, Carmen Renaud of Verdun, Quebec, Canada, Marie-Ange Heon of Princeville, Quebec, Canada and Therese Fortier and her husband, Patrick, of Sterling Heights, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church, 265 So. Main St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
