Georgette Gosselin

Sister Georgette Gosselin (Sr. Madeleine-des-Anges, age 79, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died March 2, 2009 at the St. Joseph Residence.

Born in Manchester, February 7, 1930, she was the daughter of Georges and Leontine (Rouleau) Gosselin.

She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH in 1946 and made her First Profession in 1949 and Final Profession in 1954. She celebrated her 60th (Diamond Jubilee) of Religious profession on February 2nd of this year.

She received her Bachelor Degree in Education from Rivier College, Nashua, NH

Sr. Madeleine taught French in elementary schools in Berlin, Manchester, Hudson, NH and in Woonsocket and West Warwick, R.I. She served as Sacristan at St. Patrick Church and Parish of the Transfiguration in Manchester.

Family members include three sisters, Lillian Cousins, Florence Grimard, and Ida Shepherd; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, March 6, 2009 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, was in charge of arrangements.
