He was a member of the United States Marine corps, aboard the USS Antietam during WWII in the south Pacific from 1944-1946. He attended Burdette College in Boston MA for business.
For many years Gerald worked for New England Telephone company.
He was an avid cribbage player, and served as vice president of the Queen City Cribbage League. Gerald was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post # 2, Mt. Royal Club, and the Derryfield Country Club. He coached Little League at the Central Little League.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include a brother Joseph Boardman, and his wife Theresa Boardman, of MA; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Boardman, of Manchester, Teresa Boardman, of MA; nieces, nephews, and cousins; his dear friend of many years, Norma Smith, of Litchfield.
A funeral liturgy took place Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the funeral home chapel.
Burial took place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Donald St. Bedford NH.
Memorial donations may be made to the USS Antietam Association in memory of Gerald Boardman, 7901 Candlewood Drive, Alexandria VA 22306.
