Gerald W. Chamberlain

Gerald Wilfred Chamberlain, 77, of Manchester, died April 4, 2011 at the Ridgewood Center in Bedford after period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on August 8, 1933, the son of James and Merilda (Camire) Chamberlain. He was a graduate of Manchester High School West. He served in the US Army.

Prior to retirement, he had been employed in the composing room at the New Hampshire Union Leader for many years.

He enjoyed fishing and playing golf and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his wife Irene C. (Maheu) Chamberlain in 1999 and his son Thomas Chamberlain in 1968.

Family members include his daughters Susan Jobin of Danbury, NH, Denise Byrne and husband Richard of Loudon, Janet Ayers and husband Robert of Campton, and Linda Jones and husband Stephen of Strafford, NH; one son, Michael Chamberlain of Manchester; grandchildren, Steven, Sandy, Shawn, Stacy, Kristen, Adrea, and Christopher; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Veilleux of Manchester; one brother, Marcel Chamberlain of Manchester; nephews & nieces.

The funeral service was held Friday, April 8, 2011 in the Lambert Funeral Home chapel. Committal prayers and burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Patient Activities Fund, Care of Ridgewood Center, 25 Ridgewood Road, Bedford, NH 03110.
