Gerald C. Dionne

Gerald C. "Gerry" Dionne, 72, of Manchester, died November 24, 2003, at the Elliot Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Manchester, June 15, 1931, he was the son of Elphege and Lumina (Croteau) Dionne. He was a lifelong resident of this city.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Dionne retired in 1988 from the Manchester Police Department where he worked 20 years as a humane officer.

He founded the Muchachos Drum & Bugle Corps in 1960, and served as its director for 17 years. He remained active with the organization throughout his life. He had previously been a member of the Alpine Drum & Bugle Corps.

He was a member of Sweeney Post.

Family members include his wife of 36 years, Geraldine "Geri" (Bisson) Dionne of Manchester; two daughters, Lorette Banks, and Chantelle Kapp both of Manchester; a son, Gerald E. "Gerry" Dionne of Manchester; 5 grandchildren; a sister, Jacqueline Samson of Hooksett; nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday November 29, 2003 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. After cremation encryptment was in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
