Geraldine A. Poisson

Geraldine A. (Savoie) Poisson, 89, of Manchester died November 4, 2008 at Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.

Born in St. Sylveste, Quebec on December 7, 1918, she was the daughter of Camille and Sara (Savoie) Savoie. She lived in Manchester for many years.

She worked at Evangeline Shoe Company in Manchester and in housekeeping at St. Anselm College for many years.

Mrs. Poisson was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Augustin Church in Manchester and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne at that parish. She enjoyed traveling and playing the card game whist.

She was married to Alphonse Poisson who died in 1967.

IN HER LIFE: The family includes five children, Solange "Sally" Field and her husband, Leonard; Gilles M. Poisson and his wife, Lorraine; Claude W. Poisson and his wife, Louise; Diane J. Labreche and her husband, Paul all of Manchester; and Elaine R. Marble and her husband, Craig of Hooksett; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Therese Pothier of Enosberg Falls, VT; two brothers, Guy Savoie of Victoriaville, Quebec and Gabriel Savoie of Norbertville, Quebec; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, November 8, 2008 at St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, corner of Beech and Spruce streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, So. Beech St., Manchester.
