Gerard J. Bourque, 83, of Manchester, died March 28, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester, March 2, 1923, he was a son of Phillippe and Alice (Soucy) Bourque. He graduated from Manchester West High School and later served in the US Navy during World War II.
Mr. Bourque was a retired salesman for Paul E. Bourque Co.
He was a longtime member of St. Anthony Church where he served many years as an usher and alter server. He also volunteered as an usher at the Palace Theatre.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 1624, and a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.
He was married to Frances (Lesmerises) Bourque, who died in 1998.
Family members include two sons, David W. Bourque of Manchester, and James K. Bourque of Omaha, NE; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Paul E. Bourque of Manchester; a sister, Lucille Carignan of Keene, NH; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday April 1, 2006 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
