He was born in Manchester on July 29, 1926, the son of Romeo and Alma (Larochelle) Camire. He was educated in Manchester and a lifelong resident of the area.
Gerard served in the US Navy, during WWII, aboard the USS Roy O. Hale. He went on to learn the upholstery trade from the German fellows of Maser Brothers Upholstery and in 1961, purchased and expanded the business, later known as Manchester & Concord Upholstering Co.
The family includes his loving wife of 67 years, Estelle R. (Labrie) Camire of Goffstown. He was predeceased by his first son Richard R. Camire in 1971. Living children son Guy A. Camire and wife Maureen D. of Goffstown; two daughters, Anita C. Letendre and husband Norman W. of Estero, FL., and Ann C. Bellerose and husband Roger J., Jr. of Goffstown; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Laure Bruneau of CA; and several nieces and nephews.
