Gerard F. "Jerry The Barber" Cholette, 90, of Manchester died April 24, 2004 at a local health care facility.
He was born on January 11, 1914, in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Cleophas and Roseanna (Lamoureux) Cholette. He was a lifelong resident of the Manchester area.
Until his retirement, he had owned and operated Jerry's Barber Shop on Massabesic St. in Manchester for 50 years.
Mr. Cholette was a member of the Knights of Columbus #92 and volunteered at Easter Seal Society. He was also a former member of the Youngsville Club.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church.
He was predeceased by his wife Jeannette (Beliveau) Cholette in 2001.
Members of his family include two sons, Robert G. Cholette of Laconia, NH and Gerard M. Cholette of Manchester; One daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Lucille) LeBel of Manchester; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; Two brothers, Richard Cholette of Alabama and Joseph Cholette of Manchester; Three sisters, Marie Dargie of Manchester, Lorraine Buchenauer of Manchester and Madeleine Martin of Manchester; nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony Church on Monday April 26, 2004 Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations may be made in his memory to The Easter Seals Society, 555 Auburn St., Manchester, NH 03103.
