Gerard T. "Jerry" Desrochers, 92, of Manchester, died July 9, 2012 surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health

He was born in Quebec, Canada May 10, 1920 to Louis and Virginia (Lambert) Desrochers. He had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He worked as an electrician and owned and operated Gerard T. Desrochers Electrical Contractor from 1946 to 1982.

Jerry served three terms as a NH State Representative from 1987 to 1992. In addition he served Ward 12 on the Republican Committee and as a moderator for many years. He also delivered meals on wheels for 9 years.

He was a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration where he served as an usher for 39 years. He was also a committee member of Cub Scout Troop 110. In addition he was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.

He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Rita (Lemire) Desrochers who died in 2008 and by a daughter, Denise Sullivan in 2002.

Family members include two daughters, Jocelyne Champagne and her husband, Norman, of Manchester and Lyanne Gauvin and her husband, Ronald, of Hooksett; two sons, Gerard R. Desrochers and his wife, Judith, of Hampton and John L. Desrochers and his wife, Cecile, of Manchester; a son in-law, Joseph C. Sullivan of Manchester; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude LaCourse of Manchester; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, July 13, 2012 in Parish of the Transfiguration. Encryptment was in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
