He was born in Manchester on September 21, 1929 to Antoine and Angeline (Chandonnet) Dumas. He was educated in Manchester parochial schools and later served in the U.S. Air Force for several years. He lived in Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Dumas worked for Soil Conservation Service in Milford and was a dairy and beef farmer in Bedford for many years. He was a member of the New Hampshire Farm Bureau.
He was a spiritual and philosophical person and was a mentor to many. He loved life and family and enjoyed nature, animals and the outdoors.
The family includes his wife of 61 years, Pauline (Chamberland) Dumas of Bedford; four children, Denise LeBlanc and her husband, Denis, of Acton, MA, Ronald Dumas of Bedford, Jocelyn Scarpetti and her husband, Paul, of Hooksett and Joanne Dumas of Amherst; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jocelyn, Sarah, Meghan, Michael, Cassandra and Lauren; a brother, Raymond Dumas and his wife, Marceline, of Florida and New Hampshire; and a nephew and many nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St., Manchester.
