Gerard J. Riley, 58, of Manchester died May 1, 2004 at Elliot Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Cincinnati, OH on August 12, 1945, he was the son of Roy and Evelyn (Geswein) Riley. He lived in Ironton, OH for many years before moving to Manchester 34 years ago.
Mr. Riley served in the US Navy from 1963 to 1969. He worked as a glazier with Union Local 1044 of Boston, MA for 35 years. For the past 20 he worked at Hub Glass of Somerville, MA.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine Church.
The family includes his wife of 36 years, Irene (Vaillancourt) Riley of Manchester; five children, Daniel P. Riley of Waterville, ME, Sean A. Riley of Manchester, Elizabeth M. Riley of Waterville, ME and Meaghan K. Riley and Katherine M. Riley both of Manchester; seven grandchildren; his mother of Ironton, OH; a brother, Larry Riley of Ironton, OH; four sisters, Sharon Wikoff of Ironton, OH, Patty Rogers and Therese Crance both of Columbus, OH and Catherine Burton of Lebanon, New Jersey; aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday May 5, 2004 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
