He was born in Marlboro, MA, June 8, 1922, and was the son of Emery and Eliane
Des Rochers. He was a graduate of Marlboro High School, and Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. He later graduated from Tufts School of Medicine.
Dr. Des Rochers served four years in the US Army then worked for the government in Thailand.
He practiced medicine in Manchester, NH from 1958 until several years ago. He had been on staff at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, and the former Sacred Heart and Notre Dame Hospitals. His passion was to Catholic Medical Center where he was a well respected surgeon. He also had a private practice and worked at Convenient Med Care.
His retirement included trips to Hawaii and his beloved "Espana". Religious charities were never forgotten.
His dedication to life and the preservation thereof was apparent through the treatment of his patients and the love he showed his family.
He leaves his wife, Ellen (Franklin) Des Rochers of Manchester; four sons, Gerard L. Des Rochers, Emery N. Des Rochers, Lewis W. Des Rochers and his fiancee Gioconda Teles, and Anthony Des Rochers and his wife Laurie, a granddaughter, Laura Des Rochers, all of Manchester, NH; a brother, Rev. Emery Des Rochers, M.S., of Hartford, CT.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday January 20, 2007 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Pine St., Manchester, NH. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
