Germain B. Lavallee

June 23, 1915 — March 9, 2002

Germain B. "Gerry" Lavallee, 86, formerly of 152 Chauncey Ave. Manchester died March 9, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born in Manchester on June 23, 1915, he was the son of Alfred and Paula (Forcier) Lavallee. He lived in Manchester most of his life.

Mr. Lavallee was owner and operator of Lavallee's Market and the Home Away From Home rooming house, both formerly on Chestnut Street in Manchester, for 25 years. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier for 12 years.

He was a member of Intervale Country Club and a former member of the Richelieu Club.

He was married to Louise V. (Ledoux) Lavallee who died in 1986.

The family includes a son, Richard S. Lavallee and his wife, Louise of Manchester; a daughter, Paula L. Leblond-Kang of Manchester; three grandchildren, Christopher Lavallee of Auburndale, MA, Gregory Lavallee of Manchester and Stacey Leblond of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Lorraine Taggart of Manchester and Gilberte Edick of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Julien Lavallee and Lucien Lavallee both of Tarpon Springs, FL; nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were March 11, 2002 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated March 12, 2002 in St. George Church, corner of Pine and Orange streets. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd..
