She was born in Ludlow, MA, February 17, 1911 to Cryille and Anna (Gagne) Perreault.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1930 and made her final profession in 1937. She served the Congregation for 80 years.
Sister Gertrude earned a BA from Notre Dame College in Manchester.
Her teaching assignments included Adams and Springfield, MA; Manchester and Newmarket, NH; and Groton and North Grosvenordale, CT. She was one of the foundresses of Sacred Heart Convent in Groton, CT
In 1980 she was transferred to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in West Franklin and taught religious education at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Tilton, and Immaculate Conception Parish in Penacook.
Sister Gertrude was an accomplished musician who loved to play the piano and organ. She directed many youth choirs in the parishes where she served.
She will be remembered for her great love of people and her warm and welcoming smile.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, was in charge of arrangements.
