Gheorghe F. "Gigi" Ghita

Gheorghe F. "Gigi" Ghita, 59, of Hooksett, died unexpectedly in his sleep due to natural causes.

Born in Bucuresti, Romania on July 1, 1958, he was the son of Florea and Maria (Stefan) Ghita and brother to Aurel Ghita. He attended school in Romania where he earned degrees in Art and Sports. Gigi served as Sgt. Major and Instructor in the Romanian National Air Force for several years. Along with that, he served as a Special Service Agent for the President of Romania.

After years of training, Gigi became Romania's National Gymnastics Champion where he led his team to qualifying for the Olympics. After accomplishing life as a star gymnast, he joined and traveled with the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. With the world famous Moceanu Teeterboard Troop, he holds a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records for breaking the 7 Man High Tower record.

After sharing his talents with the world, Gigi settled in America after meeting the love of his life, his wife Stacey. Together they owned and operated Gheorghe Ghita Gymnastics for over 18 years. As a superior gymnastics coach, Gigi showed his dedication and hard work by creating an environment that was known as "the place to be." More importantly as a father, Gigi was motivated to support his daughter Mihaela and son Matei through their various endeavors. Out of all of his achievements throughout his life, his family was his greatest pride and joy.

As a natural performer with his unique sense of humor, Gigi was loved and idolized by many. Above all, he will be remembered and honored as a loving husband, father, son, brother, coach, and friend.

A memorial service was held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Congregational Church of Hooksett, 5 Veterans Dr., Hooksett NH 03106.
