Gilberte Desy

Gilberte "Gillie" (Lajeunesse) Desy, 92, of Manchester, NH died July 28, 2006 at Villa Crest Assisted Living in Manchester.

Born in Montreal, Quebec on April 24, 1914, she was the daughter of Romeo and Diane (Goyette) Lajeunesse.

Mrs. Desy earned a degree in nursing from Lucy Hastings Hospital School of Nursing. She was affiliated with Concord (NH) Hospital and Montclair General Hospital in New Jersey and had done private duty nursing.

She moved to Claremont, NH in 1940 and worked at Claremont General Hospital for 20 years and at Joy Manufacturing Company.

She moved to Bradenton, FL in 1983 and enjoyed golfing with the Heather Hills Golf League, the River Run Women League and the Manatee Women Golf League.

Mrs. Desy was a member of the NH Women Golf Association, the Claremont Country Club and the Emblem Club and Garden Club in Claremont.

IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by her husband, Emile Desy and by a sister, Juliette Samoisette. The family includes a brother, Paul Lajeunesse of Southboro, MA; a sister, Lucie Lanoie of Bourne, MA; nieces, Connie Snair and her husband, David of Hooksett NH and Lisa Snair Bliven and Cynthia Snair both of Manchester, NH; other nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Florida at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to any local hospice house.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH assisted the family with arrangements.
