She was born in Manchester on November 2, 1918, and was the daughter of Albert and Eva (Bourassa) Lacerte. She had been a member of St. Marie Parish.
For many years Gilly worked at the Dorson and Fleisher Shoe Company in Manchester.
Gilly enjoyed being with family and will be remembered for her warm smile and kind heart.
She was everybody's favorite baby sitter. Gilly enjoyed playing cards especially cribbage. She also loved cooking traditional French Canadian recipes to share with family and friends.
Family members include one sister, Jeanne Lagasse, of Manchester; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday April 26, 2008 at St. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave.
Burial was private in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Preserving the Promise Campaign, St. Marie Parish, 133 Wayne St. Manchester.
