Girard R. Houle, 80, of Candia, died April 18, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, September 15, 1923, he was the son of Henry and Josephine (LeBel) Houle. He had been a Candia resident the past 30 years.
Mr. Houle served in the US Army during World War II.
He worked 26 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Manchester Highway Department. In addition he had worked for the Candia Police Dept. as an animal control and special officer.
He was communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester.
Family members include his wife of 60 years, Lena (Young) Houle of Candia; a son, Arthur Houle of Allenstown; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Houle of NH; three sisters, Lucille Lemire of Allenstown, Irene Lamarche of New Boston, and Harriette Bourassa of Derry; nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday April 21, 2004 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Manchester. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
