Gisele Henault

Sister Gisele Henault, (Sr. St. Marie-Eustelle) 84, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester, NH, died November 30, 2002, at the St. Joseph Residence in Manchester.

Born in Centreville, R.I., October 20, 1918, she was the daughter of Irenee and Ermeline (Smith) Henault. She entered the Sisters of Presentation of Mary in 1939, made her first Profession in 1942, and her final Profession in 1947.

She received a Bachelor of Education degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. She also studied at Rhode Island College and Catholic Teachers College in Providence, R.I.

As an educator, she taught music for 10 years at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson and in Manchester, NH. She was a local Superior for 19 years in Concord, NH, Rivier College in Nashua, and Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson.

She was an elementary school principal in Coventry and Woonsocket, RI, for 11 years; and an instructor and college administrator in the Philippinesfor 5 years. She then became part of the congregation's General Administration in Rome, Italy, as Councilor for 13 years. Upon returning to the United States, she ministered at the Provincial Administration in Manchester, NH, until her retirement in 2000.

Family members include a brother in-law, William Izzi; and several cousins.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday December 3, 2002 in the Ressurection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH
