Gladys L. (Artz) Raza, 91, of Pearl Manor and formerly of Becker St., Manchester died March 4, 2006 at Integrated Health Services at Manchester after a period of declining health.
Born in Bedford on July 11, 1914, she was the daughter of Richard and Wilhelmina (Gross) Artz. She attended West High School and lived in Manchester most of her life.
She worked at International Shoe Company and as a cafeteria worker at Memorial High School and Pandora Industries for many years.
Mrs. Raza was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, a soloist in the choir and a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of NEPCIA, Walk For Your Health and a knitting club.
The family includes her husband of 64 years, Lucien E. "Slim" Raza of Manchester; a daughter, Nancy Greer of Wolfeboro and nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: She enjoyed traveling around the world with her daughter Nancy who was a flight attendant. She also enjoyed being part of the Tuesday Girls with whom she played cards and went line dancing and swimming. She especially enjoyed dancing with her husband, Slim. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. The family also includes a son in law, George Greer. She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral was March 11, 2006 in First Presbyterian Church, 75 Second St., corner of Bath Street, Manchester. Rev. Douglas Rickard, Pastor officiated. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
