Gloria P. Pion

November 20, 1942 — June 8, 2005

Gloria P. Pion, 62, of Manchester, died June 8, 2005, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester, November 20, 1942, and was the daughter of Hector and Azilda (Thibeault) Simard. She was a graduate of St. Marie High School and later studied music at Notre Dame College

Mrs. Pion owned and operated Gloria Pion Beauty Salon for 12 years. She later worked many years at the St. Marie parish office and bookstore.

An accomplished soloist, she sang at many wedding and funeral liturgies as well as participating in special concerts. She also volunteered as an entertainer for nursing home residents.

Her favorite saying was "I sing for the Lord"

Gloria was a very active member of St. Marie parish. She served on the Liturgy Committee, was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the St. Marie Choir, Cantor for Liturgies, and participated in the Diocesan Choir. In addition she was a member of Grief Ministries, a member and facilitator in small group bible study, a member of Mother Rivier Associates, advisor to St. Marie's Women's Biblical Ministry, and a regular adorer at St. Marie's Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

IN HER LIFE: She leaves her husband of 41 years, Marcel C. Pion of Manchester; two daughters, Charlene Robertson and her husband John of Manchester, and Elaine Donnellan and her husband John of Lake Mary, FL; a son, Michael Pion and his wife Lee-Ann of Weare; five grandchildren, Daniel Carswell of Manchester, Kathryn and Jennifer Donnellan of Lake Mary, FL, Emily and Timothy Pion of Weare; two sisters, Normande Aubin of Bedford, and Constance Letendre of Laconia; she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Simard.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday June 11, 2005 at St. Marie Church. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. was in charge of arrangements.
