Gloria M. Schmidtchen

Gloria M. Schmidtchen, aged 96, died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at her residence in RiverWoods, Manchester, NH where she moved to in 2017.

Born in Manchester, March 16, 1929. Gloria was the daughter of Fred and Aldea (Denoncourt) Schrepfer.

In 1949 she married William Schmidtchen, Jr. who, after enjoying 48 years together, passed away in 1997. They spent many memorable summers with family at their cottage on Lake Winnaisquam. As a winter escape, Gloria spent over 15 years vacationing in Largo, Florida.

She graduated from Central High, Class of ’48 and retired from Anchor Electric. She had artistic talent with a love for ceramics, beading, knitting , sewing, and especially crocheting , making beautiful things for her family to remember her by.

Gloria is survived by her sister, Laurette Pow, her nephew, Fred Stepanek (Barbara), her nephew, William Brady (Kathy), and her niece, Tami Lafiria (John) and many grand nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Doris Brady and her niece, Lori DeQuoy (Steve).
