Gordon H. Ridge, 89, of Manchester died January 9, 2019 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Manchester on March 20, 1929, he was the son of John and Pearl (Henry) Ridge. He was educated in the local school system, and graduated from Central High, Class of 1947. After graduation, he served in both the US Army and Navy.
Prior to retirement, he had been a salesman with Robbins Autoparts for many years. Previously, he had been employed as a salesman by both Sanel Auto Parts and Auto Electric Service Company.
Gordon enjoyed salmon fishing and ice fishing. He was an incredibly gifted salesman who was very entrepreneurial his whole life. He was a life member of the Masons and was the first in his family to own either a television or car.
Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Family members include his wife, Claire (LePage) Ridge of Manchester; one son, Brian Ridge and wife Susan of New Boston; a daughter, Lois Burkush and husband John of Goffstown; his grandchildren, Sarah Eastman, Jennifer Enman, Katie Frigon, Michael and Arthur Burkush; great-grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Emmett, and Cora; one brother, David Ridge of Keene; nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Gene Kenneth Burkush in 1998 and his siblings, Sally Lindner and John Ridge.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 14, 2019 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Committal prayers with military burial honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Mausoleum.
