In 1971 Gordon received his BA in history from Lynchburg College. Following graduation, he began working for the CIA. In 1980, he began working in the surveillance and security field for the Nevada gaming control board. He continued working in that field globally until his retirement in February 2006.
Always a private man, many would call him their mentor, a guide, a good friend.
Family members include his wife, Pamela (Bois) Sleeper, of Manchester; nieces and nephews, and cousins. Gordon was pre-deceased by a sister, Geri Lynne Sleeper Yerxa, in 1978
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. corner of North St.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday July 16, 2007 in St. Joseph Cathedral, Pine St. Manchester.
Following cremation, inurnment took place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
