Gordon Elwin Young

Gordon E. Young 85, longtime resident of Dunbarton, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Elliot Hospital. 

Born in beautiful Dummer, New Hampshire on July 25, 1938, he was the son to the late Henry and Florence (Sias) Young. He relocated to the Queen City area and met the love of his life, Dolores. They later settled in Dunbarton and started their family.

Gordon and Dolores would have shared their 64^th wedding anniversary on February 6, 2024.

He was a skilled draftsman, having worked on blueprints for Kalwall Corporation for many years before retiring in 2006. Following retirement with help from family and friends, Gordon and Dolores built their dream log cabin home in Dummer, NH.

Gordon loved his John Deere Tractors and matching collectibles. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Some of his favorite memories were those made camping, fishing and traveling with his family and friends. He especially loved his Las Vegas trips with his wife. 

Gordon is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dolores Young of Dunbarton; five children, Karen Cookson and her husband, Duane of Bow, Michael Young and his wife, Rhea of Mesa, AZ, Kevin Young and his wife, Guylaine of Ormond Beach, FL, Brenda Young of Salisbury, NC and Scott Young and his wife, Lisa of Manchester; brother, Gilbert Young Of Hooksett and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by seven siblings, Kenneth, Sherman, Kathleen, Joyce, Bette, Lorna and Harold. 

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Saturday (1/27) from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.  Burial will take place in the spring at the family lot in Willis Cemetery, Dummer, NH.
