Grace E. Trahan

Grace E. (Francoeur) Trahan, 83, of Hampton died May 4, 2007 at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester on May 3, 1924, she was the daughter of George and Marie Anne (Roberge) Francoeur. She lived most of her life in Manchester and in Hampton for the past 10 years.

She graduated from St. George High School and from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Mrs. Trahan and her husband were former co-owners of Myrtle Convalescent Home in Manchester and Seacoast Health Center and the Partridge House both in Hampton.

She served as Commissioner of the Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators during the Gov. Meldrim Thomson administration. She was also a former officer and director of the New Hampshire Health Care Association and a former president of the American College of Nursing Home Administrators New Hampshire Chapter.

The family includes her husband of 63 years, Leon Trahan of Hampton; three children, Eileen M. Piet of Hampton, Daniel P. Trahan of Epsom and David A. Trahan of Deerfield; a sister, Florence Guertin of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.

IN HER LIFE: The family also includes grandchildren, Christopher Gagnon, Craig Trahan, DeAnneWest, Sarah Trahan, Hannah Trahan, Keith Trahan and Emily Trahan; great grandchildren, Lucas Gagnon, Samantha West and Christopher E. Gagnon.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday May 8, 2007 at the Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
