Harold A. Blais

Harold A. Blais, 90, of Manchester died January 20, 2004 at Harborside Healthcare-Northwood in Bedford after a long illness.

Born in Manchester on December 1, 1913, he was the son of Edgar and Ida (Manseau) Blais. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He served with the U.S. Navy as a member of the Seabees.

Mr. Blais was self-employed as a painting contractor for many years. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus council 5260 where he organized bingo events for 20 years. He was also a member of the Post Office Cribbage League at that council. He was an avid Red Sox fan.

He was married to Rita (Perreault) Blais who died in 1997.

The family includes two brothers, Gordon Blais of Pembroke and Clarence Blais of Manchester; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday January 24, 2004 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, corner of Cypress and Hayward streets, Manchester. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
