Born in Nashua on September 10, 1921, he was the son of Frank and Alice (Oake) Cross. During WWII, he served in the US Army and earned several decorations and citations, including the Good Conduct Medal, American, European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Service Medals with three Bronze Stars.
Prior to retirement, he had worked as a clerk for the US Postal service for 23 years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Geraldine (Pariseau) Cross in 2014.
He was a member of the Nashua Odd Fellows, the Legion of 1000 Men of Precious Blood Monastery, and the American Legion Sweeney Post #2.
Family members include three sister-in-laws, Theresa Pouliot of Goffstown, Norma Pariseau of Bedford, and Vera Cross of Massachusetts; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
A worship service took place on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the chapel at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
