He was born in Manchester on July 4, 1935, and was the son of Gustave and
Helen (McKenna) Simons.
He was a graduate of West High School class of 1953, and was employed by Public Service of NH for thirty-five years as an Electrical Superintendent. Harry resided in Laconia for 23 years prior to moving to Bedford in 1994.
He was recognized by the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction as a Prince of the Royal Secret 32nd degree in 1963. For many years Harry held memberships in the Laconia Kiwanis Club, NH Jockey Club, and the NH Trotting and Breeding Association. He was a member of the Advisory
Board for NH Technical College in Laconia, and served in the NH National Guard - 172 Field Artillery for eight years. He enjoyed spending time at the race track and was the proud owner of his greyhound "Simons Best".
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include long-time companion, Jeannette Burley of Bedford; two daughters, Sharie Pothier and her husband Michael of Bedford, Sheryl Simons, of ME; two step-daughters, Joanne Hale of Bedford, Beverly Paulhamus, of Amherst; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Arline Rom, of NY, Kathleen Bayko, of Manchester; a brother, Charles Simons of, CT; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Frances (Shreve) Simon, a step-son Gary Shreve, siblings Marjorie, Lorraine, and George.
Burial services were private.
