Helen R. Bozahara

Helen R. (Flanders) Bozahara, 92, of Manchester died February 27, 2004 in her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Haverhill, MA on November 1, 1911, she was the daughter of Weldon and Bridget (Canon) Flanders. She lived in Manchester most of her life.

Mrs. Bozahara was a dance teacher specializing in ballroom dancing, tap and ballet. During World War II she worked with the USO.

During the 1920's and 1930's she was a member of the Manchester Super Brownies who were a group that would put on year-round swimming and diving shows at the ledge in Derryfield Park.

Mrs. Bozahara enjoyed playing golf. She was a member of the Derryfield Country Club for many years and later became an honorary member. She was a former member of the New Hampshire Woman's State Golf Association and a former communicant of St. Pius X Church and St. Catherine Church.

She was married to Joseph N. Bozahara who died in 1977.

The family includes two daughters, Alicia Flanders of Merrimack and Cynthia Harrison of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday March 2, 2004 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Donald St., Bedford.
