Helen M. Burpee

Helen M. Burpee, 91, lifelong resident of NH, passed away peacefully at Hillsborough County Nursing Home on Monday, May 22, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Hickey) Cantin and was one of nine siblings. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred Cantin, Jr., Carl Cantin Sr. and Robert Cantin Sr.; sisters, Beatrice Duquette, Marguerite Blanchette, Cora Morrell. Rose Cote and Ann Simpson.

Helen was married to and predeceased by George A. Burpee Sr., and her sons, Albert Burpee, George Burpee Jr., and John Burpee. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Burpee and his wife, Dawn of Manchester and Thomas Burpee and his wife, Angie of Hooksett. She also leaves behind four daughters, Roberta McQuiston of Sun Lakes, AZ, Linda Cusson and her husband, William of Manchester, Mary Meuer and her husband, Bruno of Chandler, AZ, and Ann Boisvert and her husband, Jerry of Manchester.

She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Helen’s joys were spending time with her family here in NH as well as when she was a snowbird in AZ. She loved playing cards, bingo, camping, watching game shows, and rerun after rerun of “The Golden Girls”.

Services: Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 30^th from 4-6pm immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 6pm in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the organization of your choice in Helen’s honor.

The family of Helen would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Hillsborough County Nursing Home for the love and care they’ve shown to Helen over the last four years.
