Helen Ida Carter

Helen I. Carter, 85, of Manchester died Friday November 25, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Born February 21, 1937 in Manchester, she was the daughter of Aime and Florence (Blais) Rambeau.  She attended Manchester schools.  In 1956 she married Ronald C. Carter Sr. and enjoyed 39 years of marriage with him until his death in 1995.

Helen worked as a clerk for the Manchester city tax collector’s office.  She also worked at Goffs Falls Market and Harrington Catalog.  She was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Manchester.  Helen enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting.

Family members include her children Sheryl Kiley & her husband Patrick, Ronald C. Carter Jr. & his wife Carol, Amy-Jo McLachlin, and Christine Demers & her husband Carl; grandchildren Jessie Ulliani & her husband Jeremy, Michael Forino, Matthew Forino, Sarah Puchalla & her husband Grant, Jonathan Demers, Zachary Carter, Christopher Kiley & his wife Amanda Varcelotti, and Sean Kiley & his wife Kristine; siblings Beverly “Ann” Cournoyer and Richard Rambeau; and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, her parents Aime & Florence, son-in-law Patrick McLachlin and sisters Lorraine Lesmerises and Doris Blasik.

The family would like to thank the staff at Meetinghouse Senior Living in Manchester and Bedford Hills Solana Unit for their excellent care and support.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday (11/30) from 4 to 7 pm at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday (12/1) at 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester, followed by committal at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.
