Helen Frances Cummings, 93, died August 15, 2008, at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was born in Melrose, MA, the daughter of James Norris and Agnes Mahaffe.

Helen lived many years in Melrose,MA and attended Melrose-Wakefield High School where she earned awards for her writing. She later moved to New Hampshire in 1963.

She worked many years for the Mary E. Hunt home in Nashua, NH.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed gardening and animals.

Members of her family include one son, James W. Costello of west Brookfield, MA; two daughters Jacqueline Decie of Malden, MA, and Charlene Colman of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grand children; 4 great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In Her life: She was predeceased by two sons Terry Lee Costello and Alan Robert Cummings.

Services: A memorial gathering took place on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street. Burial was in Cambridge, MA at a later date.
