Helene Marie Weber McGovern passed away on November 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Helene was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. McGovern, Sr., who was a NH Union Leader pressman and died in 1991. They were married for 41 years.
Helene was born on June 24, 1928 in Passaic, NJ to the late Hubert and Catherine (Hyland) Weber. She had two brothers and four sisters. She was raised and educated in Livingston, NJ before moving to Manchester, NH in 1962. She enjoyed spending her summers at Northwood Lake in Deerfield, NH.
Helene (also known as Grammy) will be remembered for being a skilled seamstress, her counted cross stich samplers and her many crafts. She had a "trademark" penmanship. She loved to play cards (especially pinochle) with family and friends and making puzzles.
Helene is predeceased by her two brothers Hubert R. Weber and William L. Weber; her three sisters Catherine Hooper, Sister Mary Claire OP (Carol), and Joyce Mitschele; her grandson Patrick J. McGovern, Jr.; and great-grandson Conrad P. McGovern.
She is survived by her sister Betty L. Weber of Livingston, NJ, her four children: Clare M. Cail of Manchester, Thomas Jr. and Lynn McGovern of Auburn, Patrick and Ellen McGovern of Deerfield, and Terrence (Terry) and Kristin of Hooksett; her nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 25th from 9 to 11 am in St. Joseph Cathedral followed by a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
