Henri Auger, 89, formerly of Manchester, died December 30, 2016 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown after a period of declining health.
He was born in Suncook on May 7, 1927 to Onesime and Marie Rose (Dubois) Auger. He lived in Canada for 23 years, then in Manchester, Bedford and Goffstown.
Henri worked as a self-employed plasterer for many years and as a lumberjack in his younger years. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage and was an avid sports fan
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Simone T. (Poirier) Auger in 2015; a son-in-law, Marcel Lavoie and a grandson, Jason Lavoie.
The family includes four children, Claire Lavoie and her companion, Richard Drouin, of Goffstown, Paul Auger and his wife, Denise, of Manchester, Marc Auger and his wife, Heide, of Henniker and David Auger and his wife, Rachael, of Goffstown; nine grandchildren, Danny, Casey, Cheryl, Amy, Paul, Eric, Emily, Samantha and Michelle; nine great grandchildren, Connor, Ashley, Anna, Trevor, Audrey, Natalie, Paul, Alexa and Mallory; two siblings, Geraldine Bissonnette of Hooksett and Jean Auger and his wife, Annette, of Goffstown; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
