He was born in Manchester, NH on December 15, 1922, the son of Auguste and Rose (Bouchard) Duval. He was educated in the local school system.
During World War II, he was a staff sergeant in the US Army and served in Normandy, France, the Rhineland, and the Ardennes Campaigns where he received the victory medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He also earned the Good Conduct Medal.
After the war, he was the co-owner of Kilton's Wholesale Meat Service Co. Inc.
He enjoyed landscaping around his house and also enjoyed working in funeral service at a local funeral home. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood.
Henri had enjoyed his time spent at Carlyle Place and was thankful for the staff and many friends he met while residing there.
Members of his family include his wife of 61 years, Therese (Cormier) Duval, of Manchester; one daughter, Carmel Charron of Goffstown; two sons, Roger Duval of Bedford and Paul Duval of North Carolina; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Duval of Manchester and Raymond Duval of Florida; one sister, Julie Hebert of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In his life: He was predeceased by his daughter, Jeannine McGuire, three brothers, Lionel Duval, Ross Duval, and Albert Duval, as well as two sisters, Grace D'Amour and Lucy Lemay.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 225 Hemlock St., on Saturday February 3, 2007. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Sisters of the Monastery of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge St, Manchester, NH 03104, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 10 Ferry St., Suite 427 B, Concord, NH 03301.
