Henry A. Korona, 80, of Manchester, died November 5, 2005 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.
He was born in Manchester on April 24, 1925, the son of Frank and Katherine (Lesniak) Korona. He was a graduate of Manchester High School Central and attended New Hampshire College.
During WWII, he served with the 251st Combat Engineers in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany from 1943 to 1946. He participated in the Northern France, Central Europe and Rhineland battles. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8214 and a member of the American Legion Post 79 in Manchester.
After the war, he worked as a sales merchandiser for Super Market Industries in Hopkinton, MA for 25 years. He then completed his working career with Alexanders Supermarket in Nashua, NH for 10 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris (Rheaume) Korona in 1989. He was a loving, devoted, and caring husband, father, and grandfather.
Members of his family include his son, Kevin Korona of Londonderry; daughter-in-law, Laura P. (McAlister) Korona of Londonderry; two granddaughters, Kristin and Kailyn Korona of Londonderry; many nephews and nieces.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday November 8, 2005 in the Lambert Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
