He was born in Manchester, November 18, 1914, and was the daughter of Joseph and Analda (Boudreau) Martin. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
He was a retired firefighter and had been a member of the Manchester Fire Department for 27 years before his retirement in 1969.
He was a member of the Retired Firefighters Association, the Mont Royal Club, the East Side Club, the Rimmon Club, and the Professional Pall Bearers Association. He had been a member of the former St. Edmond parish for many years and was presently a member of Parish of the Transfiguration.
He was an avid fisherman and billiards player.
Family members include his wife, Madeleine (Cholette) Martin of Manchester; four sons, Andre Martin of Manchester, Normand Martin of Lake Tahoe, CA, Richard Martin of Deerfield, NH, and Paul Martin of Daytona, FL; two daughters, Pauline Peltak of Merrimack, NH, and Laurette Hall of Avon Park, FL; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Roger Martin of North Carolina; two sisters, Claire Boucher, and Therese "Minie" Lambert, both of Manchester; many nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday June 29, 2007 at Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
